Walking into a field of classroom students and faculty culture is definately a spiritual trek no matter what your domination or affiliation. I experenced this recently within the past 30 days. A faculty member had been killed two weeks prior, due to domestic violence and a very popular teacher had to take an extended medical leave who was teaching about banning books from libraries especially the YA Young adult and teenage collection. Talk about walking upon an egg shell of emotions among this group while creating curriculum yet connecting on a level to express empathy and understanding. I felt emotionally, spiritually, culturally, and professionally challenged. i was supposed to remain on the assignment for 65 days and I was released at the end of 30 days. I really had to meditate, do yoga, and pray about that situation.
