I just published a rant, aka Public Service Announcement, about the whole Charlie Kirk thing. I share my responses to the horrible event of his murder and provide a possibly unusual psychodynamic perspective on our nation’s disappointingly (to me) unitary response. It’s for paid subscribers only, so if you want to hear it you have to upgrade your subscription. For only a month! Not only will you get the opportunity to hear the PSA but you’ll be able to let me know what you think of it. I plan on dropping these fairly frequently into my paid subscribers’ inboxes, so your feedback will be
really helpful.
Thanks, as always, for reading and listening.

This was incredibly valuable to me. Your guess about how our society is turning to “splitting”, unable to consider things as nuanced, always reverting to “all good” or “all bad” labels for people and events, is a powerful explanation for our country’s situation. And it also helps me see that tendency in myself, rooted in childhood understandings that could not possibly comprehend the range and variety of reality. But now I’m grown up and need to recognize when that immature tendency arises. Thanks, Betsy!! This deserves WIDE dissemination!
