New Year's Resolutions 2020

New Year’s Eve is right around the corner! Here are some great last-minute resolution ideas for those of you who are still shopping for some:

  • Make a habit of asking yourself, “Where’s the data?” And then make a habit of making the flip.

  • Honor your garden. Take responsibility for it: put in plants you love, weed it, fertilize it — and own your manure.

  • Lie in wait for those students who drive you crazy and, rather than punish or banish them, give them more caring attention.

  • Plan ways to get cared for, regularly.

  • Honor othersgardens. Gaze at them with curiosity and admiration. Ask questions. Say to yourself, “Understanding difference only enriches.”

  • Choose one negative self-belief to do battle with over and over again. Create your antidote: a loving, believable mantra that serves as a reliable reality check.

  • Give yourself permission to wade into conflict by engaging courageously and opening the Nth.
